The Indian Wells Tennis Garden located at 78200 Miles Avenue, with an entrance also located at the cross streets also of Fred Waring Drive and Washington Street in Palm Desert is our best location for "tennis in the desert." Every March, professional championship tennis returns to the desert with the Pacific Life Open. For two weeks, the top players in the world of mens and womens tennis descend upon the desert, which culminate in a weekend of usually to a sold-out crowd of finals. In 2008 Roger Federer was defeated in earlier rounds by Spain's golden boy 22-year-old Rafael Nadal Parera (now ranked #2 World) , who went on to win the desert's Pacific Life Open, and the first Tennis Master's Event in 2008 . This year's highly anticipated event begins March 10th, and continues through March 23, 2009.
