Lodge Canongate KilwinningThe minutes of Lodge Canongate Kilwinning record that at the meeting of 1st February 1787, Robert Burns was made an Honorary member of the Lodge. The painting "The Inauguration of Robert Burns as Poet Laureate of Lodge Canongate Kilwinning" depicts the event which was reputed to have taken place on 1st March 1787.
