Kek Lok Si

Translated as "Temple of Supreme Bliss", Kek Lok Si is one of the oldest and best known Mahayanese temples in Penang. Sprawled on the hills in Ayer Itam, one will be encountered with the many souveneir traders along the way up to the temple. The temple itself is a maze of old and new buildings. The Pagoda, presents one of the best views of Penang. Take the 'mini'cable car to the top of cluster of temples, and you'll be able to view the magnificent 30.2m bronze statue of 'Kuan Yin' (also known as Avalokitesvara, a bodhisattva)
