Wat Chayamangkalaram & Dhammikarama Burmese TempleWat Chayamangkalaram (Thai) and the Dhammikarama Burmese temple are conveniently located opposite each other on Burma Lane, Penang. Wat Chayamangkalaram is famous for one of the largest reclining Buddha in South East Asia. Apart from housing a prayer hall, the temple doubles up as a pre-war columbarium. The Dhammikarama Burmese temple, on the other hand, is the oldest Buddhist temple in the country. It has gone through several new additions, including one of the largest standing statue of the Buddha in an ornate hall.
