Lonely Planet Review
Combining budget prices with luxury views, this quirky Victorian guesthouse is unlike any other sleep option in Lisbon. The name means 'eagle's nest,' a reference to the turret that crowns the hotel's roof and affords its most spectacular views.
With just 14 rooms, it's no surprise that Pensão Ninho das Águias is often booked solid. If you know this is the place for you, be sure to plan ahead. The rooms are not plush, but most are bright and airy, with maritime breezes that keep you cool on all but the hottest days of summer. Besides the rooftop turret, there is a well-landscaped terrace, where you can make friends with the resident dachshund and golden retriever. The service can be less than friendly, depending who is on duty, and get out your Portuguese phrasebooks if you need anything on the night shift. Also, note that it's a little removed from the action, on a perilously narrow street on the backside of the Castelo São Jorge. However, that's also part of the beauty of the place. You feel like you're in a country town with a view onto a big city.

this is a fab place to stay. the ladies are really nice and helpful and everything is pretty close. We loved it.
It was not dirty but almost every furnitures and style are old. That is the reason why there made no fun to stay in the shared living room. The bath & shower room was there only one to share. I had to wait so long to take shower and at last I had to gave up to wait, so that I had to wash me at the Hand wash corner in my room.
We LOVED this hostel! The location was superb and very easy to find! The owner and main hostel keeper were accomodating, caring, genuine, and just GREAT people! Our Eurotrip began in Lisbon and we stayed in the guesthouse. Our final night in the EU was in Lisbon, but we didn't make reservations because we wanted a quality place for our final night! We stayed in this guesthouse for our final night because we were so happy on our first visit! We plan on visting Lisbon in 2 years and we will DEFINITELY stay here again!!!
nice staff but there is only one shower for all the rooms and two bathrooms. although they do have free internet and a common area so its good for those who dont care much about sharing or waiting for a bathroom. the staff didnt speak much english but were really nice and tried hard to communicate.
This guest house has some unwarranted negative feedback. It was brilliant. As said, the people who run it are amazingly friendly and have the patience of saints, answering the door with a smile (and at times funny jokes) at all hours. There was, contrary to comments left on this site, always hot water. I highly recommend it. To complain would show a lack of character and a lust for the bleached, generic feel of a holiday inn. I hate holiday inns.
