Kelantan State Hospital of the Government type.
Main stadium in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. A place for football matches and rallies of the political kind. It is located just next to the Kota Bharu Hospital.
1st shopping mall in Kota Bharu, the capital of the east coast state of Kelantan. Has the usual eateries, mall shops, anchored by Pacific Departmental Store.
A&W also to be found apart from KFC, Chicken Rice Shop, Secret Recipes etc
Banding Island Resort is a gateway located on a man made island in Lake Temenggor, Northern of Perak. This sanctuary sits amidst the aura of a million year old tropical rainforest and has the Belum forest nearby.
The resort is a accessible via East-West Highway which stretches from Gerik, Perak to Jeli, Kelantan. It is about 40km eastward from Gerik.
It is an good location for a short stop when going on the E-W highway. Here is where most travellers take a p-break and a makan break. There is also a petrol station nearby. The beauty and tranquility of the areas surrounding the resort makes one feels a part of nature.
The Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK), sometimes dubbed "the Eton of the East", is a premier residential school in Malaysia. It is an all-boys and all-Malay school located in the royal town of Kuala Kangsar, Perak. Author Anthony Burgess used to teach year for a period of time.
MCKK was the brainchild of Mr R J Wilkinson, then Inspector of Schools for the Federated Malay States. In a letter to the Resident-General dated 24th February 1904 he wrote about "establishing at a suitable locality in the F.M.S., a special residential school for the education of Malays of good family and for the training of Malay boys for admission to certain branches of Government service".
MCKK was established on 2nd January, 1905, it was originally known as the Malay Residential School of Kuala Kangsar.
KE VII Primary School, original site of the Taiping Railway Station.
The Taiping Railway Station was built in 1885 to facilitate the transfer of tin to Port Weld in Penang which was then the main point for shipping it out of the country. Before the “iron horse” came into service for this purpose, elephants were used to carry the ore along jungle trails.
The current site of the town’s railway station is not its original location. The old station formerly sat on the land which is today occupied by the King Edward VII Primary School.
One of the oldest club house in Taiping. Building is relatively new. Has a swimming pool, gym, tennis courts and slot machines.
Missionary School ran previously by the Catholic Brothers.
